OBEDIENCE

Today was our WARD CONFERENCE...and our Stake President spoke about obedience...and what hit me most was the quote he read: “When obedience ceases to be an irritant and becomes our quest, in that moment God will endow us with power.”
It is profound to me...I am going to test this in my life...I just got the November General Conference Ensign and am excited to read it! I was on a mini vacation in Nags Head at the beach during conference weekend...we did try to find the channel...but no luck! Anyway, I am hopeful and excited to start living a more righteous life...I need the help I know only God can give...especially as I raise my girls in a world where wholesome values aren't popular!
Our Primary Presidency struggles with some children in our ward and I often think of how the Savior would handle them and then it dawned on me...why am I not more conscience of that with my own children...I really have failed to call upon Heavenly Father for his help with parenthood...I am not very good! And what makes my jaw drop is that these little ones still love me and want me around...even when the HULK has shown up...today at church little Duncan (3 yr old boy and also Sydney's preschool mate) jumped into me for a hug while I was chatting with his mom...it was just so sweet...especially after he was here for preschool at my home and was reprimanded often...he wanted a hug!!?!?!?! I know the Lord blesses our lives with precious moments like these with His little ones to help us see the BIGGER picture. I honor us as mothers....it's not easy!
So big hug and cheers to us mothers! May we be humble enough to call on our Heavenly Father for guidance when we feel we're at our wits end...I say this mostly for my own benefit.
