lots of stuff

Lots of stuff has happened...Last Thursday the girls and I were rearended by a guy....not to bad...minor injury to the suburban...our bumper will need to be replaced...small job, but @ $1300 to fix....the guy wants to go about it without the insurance company...so we are working with him...hope it all goes well...he's a pastor of a non denomination church he started up @ 23 years ago. Good guy, just sucks having to mess with this kind of stuff.

Christie has started making consonant sounds....mostly "d" and it's random...and she has rolled from belly to back too...so big improvements...she giggles more and has really shown some personality in the last 3 weeks.

Well, I've been shopping on EBAY for school clothes and found some awesome shirts at a great deal.....so giddy...I hate shopping so this is a huge score! picture above of the type of shirts I got!
Can't think of anything else...oh girls got their teachers for next year. Jaimie didn't recognize her teacher's name so she looked in last years yearbook and it was a 5th grade teacher...anyway she comes up to me with tears in her eyes and said "I'm not going into 5th grade!" it was cute, I had to explain to her that teachers move around a lot and she's going down to teach the 2nd grade! Kassidy got a male teacher "he's italian" she says...she wanted him as a teacher too...so great! I am excited for this year...feels like I haven't had much of a summer...wonder where it went!?!?! Last year felt like I was always going to Kings Dominion and that it went by slowly...this year we've only went to Kings Dominion once and summer went by too fast! ugh.
OH, I remember I wanted to tell you about this lady in our ward...Holly Baxter is the neatest lady...she is full of great wisdom, a convert and also dying of cancer. She's a fighter so we are hoping she'll battle it and be able to live longer...she has a son from a previous marriage and he's like 13 and then they adopted 3 kids: 2 boys from Russia and a little girl Rosie from China. Rosie is 3 like our Sydney and the other boys are 12 and I think 11 (the 12 year old is one of Mike's scouts)! K...so there's the intro to their family...anyway, on fast Sunday of this month she gets up in sacrament meeting to bear testimony and say's that many of us have been asking about Max (12 year old), wondering where he is...she goes on to say that he's been having a really rough time with everything (she didn't go into detail, but I am sure it's the time he spent being orphaned and school issues, his mom dying etc) and he tried to set their home on fire so the state put him in a facility that will help him and he'll be there for about a year and so please remember him in your prayers. Such a sweet family! So today at church I was in the hall with other members of the primary presidency and one of them is telling us how a couple of members of the ward approached Holly Baxter letting her know that putting Max in that facility was the wrong thing to do and if he was in a loving home and a good environment there wouldn't be the need to put him in a facility... yada yada, who knows exactly what was said for sure, and it's all gossip anyway, but either way what they said was WRONG and these people have perhaps in a loving way butted in! I brought this up because we seem to have very strong and sometimes harsh personalities in our ward and I am not sure where these people feel they have a right to put their nose into someone's business. Granted, Holly told us their family's struggle with Max...so go give her a hug and tell her you will pray for her or what not, but to tell her she had no right to put him in a facility to help him or to contact LDS social services and try to have him as your foster child (ya one of them did that too) is just plain freaking RUDE and crossing the line!?!?! I got so irritated...I wanted to find out who it was and poke their eyeballs out...but that's wouldn't be right and reude just like they are...but seriouslly...why do that? Ugh...I don't see how anyone can see that as helping or loving!?!? I hear Holly made it known in Relief Society the following Sunday that it is unacceptable to try to take someone's children away and who knows for sure specifically what else...wish I was in Relief Society to have heard.
Anyway...I don't think anyone from my ward knows my blog so who cares if they do read this...perhaps the culprits that are guilty of this rude behavior will catch the hint that what they did was RUDE!!!! and BUTT OUT. As members we serve and love and care and pray for those we share a ward family with but there is such a thing as crossing the line...ugh...I am getting sick of going off about it so I am sure you are of hearing it...but seriously made me upset when I heard about it...the nerve of some people!
I'll end on a highlight....I had a great phone visit with my friend Stephanie Thompson (Burdick)! I don't remember not knowing her...anyway, it was wonderful catching up and hearing about her life and "HI Stephanie"...can't wait for my Boobalicious shirt!
take care. xoxoxo

Wow poor Holly. That's pretty crazy what the people said and I hope she is a very strong lady and doesn't let herself be offended and never go to church again. I am sure she feels she is doing best for him and nobody but her really knows all the issues he may have. I really can't believe about the foster thing, my heck! Anyway on a better not.. cute clothes and yeah for Christie! Hope everything goes good witht the burb.

Great job on the clothes bargain. I feel for Holly. I can't imagine what she is going through as a mom and a woman who is battling for her life. It amazes me how unsympathetic and uncompassionate people can be. GRRRR!
