We're on track
Christie had her 9 month check up today with our family physician. We have the coolest family doctor ever and he'll be the main guy behind the wheel of all the care she receives...I feel confident in him and that's a comfort! So update...Christie weighs 16lbs 15oz...and she's 28inches and they didn't do a head measurement....we'll get that later...no worries...and she's great on iron...had to do a finger prick...she didn't really like that, but she only let out a little whine...she's a trooper. I have to put an eye bandage over her left eye since her right eye is the weakest 6 hrs a day...I know it's helped since she actually grasps at her toys and she reaches out and pulls hair...she's a trooper with that too since it sucks having to take the thing off.
Anyway, our family Doc...I'll refer to him as Dr. H, said that our next step is to see the Neurologist and we should have an apt. within the next few weeks. She sees the eye doctor again in about 3 weeks!
We've learned that early intervention is the key in what she'll need to hopefully perhaps lead a relatively normal life...our hope! We'll take it one day at a time. Meanwhile I realize we'll need help...but I am confident that this experience will bring us closer as a family! Mike and I found a great website http://www.nodcc.org/first_steps_for_newly_diagnosed.php that gave us lots of info and comfort and was a great help for me....has cool info too so check it out! There is even a wonderful poem Welcome to Holland which really put things into perspective.
Well, I just want to thank Sis. Salisbury for watching my girls today while Christie had her doc apt. My girls loved recess the best.
I love my sisters...nothing like Sisters...you rock! I am just so happy for my girls that they've got each other.
I feel so encircled with love...yippee!!
Nana Holly had surgery today on her esophagus and it went well so while in recovery she coughed and something happened and her esophagus tore and they had to go back in and fix it...so what was an overnighter at the hospital will be several more days. She should be just fine though!
I want my family to know that just as they are thinking of me and praying for me I too am doing the same for them. love and miss you

Oh how I love and miss you all! I am so glad she has a good doctor and that the eye patch is helping. We love you guys.
Go to my blog and look at Brian and Jennifer's blog-they were in our ward in Mesa. It will make you feel like the trials we have to go thru in life are not so bad. When I am feeling frustrated about Connor, I just think of Jennifer and try to have her amazing strength and courage. I love you!
